Complexity became the champions of BLAST Premier Spring Europe Finals after coming back from a blowout loss on Vertigo to beat Vitality on two close maps in the grand final. The grand final victory capped off a fantastic tournament from the European-American mixture, who have won their first big title in just over eight months of their existence after coming together under the blue banner late last year as a brand new international squad. In the tournament's title decider, Complexity had to overcome a daunting loss on Vertigo and sweat through a close affair on Mirage, where Vitality were a round away from closing the series 2-0, before coming back from a 3-8 deficit on Nuke to clinch the $335,000 grand prize. Such a close loss will be tough to swallow for the French side, who were hungry for their first title of 2020, but Vitality will have some positives to take away from the tournament nonetheless as they looked back in good shape after a shaky period that saw them go through severe changes following the departure of Alex "ALEX" McMeekin. Vertigo was not much of a contest from start to finish. Warmed up from their FaZe series played earlier in the day, Vitality turned up in fantastic shape on the opening map while Complexity struggled to find answers to the fast-paced offense. They went down 0-7 before putting their first couple of rounds on the board, but the Frenchmen immediately retaliated with another dominant run, ending the half at 13-2 before a convincing defense in the following pistol round gave them a staggering 16-2 victory. Complexity looked much more competitive on their pick, Mirage. A pistol round win saw them avoid another poor start and gain back some much-needed confidence on the offense, and despite Vitality striking back with weapons in hand the European-American mixture managed to maintain a lead throughout the half, in part thanks to a pistol buy victory at 6-5. Ahead by three rounds by halftime, Benjamin "blameF" Bremer's men extended their lead with another pistol triumph, but they were far from safe. Down 6-12, Vitality mounted a comeback spearheaded by none other than Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut, whose several multikills put the French side back in contention. Complexity managed to avert disaster when they survived regulation up against a match point, though, and in overtime they drove it home in convincing fashion at 19-16. The series came down to Nuke. Vitality looked back in control to start things off, conceding just three out of the first 11 rounds while they mounted a great defense. However, as the half reached its late stages Complexity won two clutches, courtesy of Valentin "poizon" Vasilev and Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke, and turned around 3v5 and 2v3 disadvantages to claw back to just a one-round deficit. Despite conceding the second pistol round due to not leaving themselves enough time to defuse the bomb, the deficit was gone once Complexity won with just pistols in response. Vitality seized back control with three consecutive rounds on the back of a 1v2 clutch from Dan "apEX" Madesclaire on the lower bombsite, but a switch-up to a couple of quick strategies towards upper backfired and blameF's squad used the momentum shift to go on a six-round streak and secure the series at 16-12, 2-1.
